All breeders listed below are registered with the controlling Canine Association of their State or Country and are required to conform to their Association Rules and Code of Ethics. The South Australian Canine Association (DogsSA) Rules can be downloaded from their website www.dogssa.com.au . Breeders are required to conform to these Rules, which stipulate that ALL litters be registered with SACA. Breeders should transfer ownership of puppies within 14 days, and SACA will post the certified pedigree to the new registered owner.
The Rules also regulate for the health of the Breeds, and all dogs must be micro-chipped before sale. They also control the age of the dogs to be mated (not before 12 months of age),
the regularity of breeding from the same dog (only one litter per year)
and types of mating (mother/son, father/daughter/ brother/sister matings are banned), etc.
This helps to ensure that new owners have a healthy micro-chipped puppy, know its full breeding and are the legal owners.
Ask the breeder if the parents have been genetically tested and are clear.
